Iwas born in Seoul, Korea and moved to sunny California as a kid. I spent most of my early life outside — soccer, catching lizards, exploring creeks — and later fell in love with teaching during my M.Ed at UC San Diego.
For almost a decade, I taught science at a 6-12 charter school serving first-generation college-bound students. I coached soccer and eSports, ran the activities board, chaired the technology department, and learned far more from my students than they ever learned from me. It was the most rewarding and most exhausting thing I have ever done.
In 2022 I left the classroom to work in product management at an early-stage EdTech AI startup. I wanted to have a broader impact on education and take better care of myself along the way. The skills I built as a teacher — systems thinking, listening, patience, comfort with ambiguity — turned out to be exactly what product work demands.
I run Moment Coffee Company, a small wholesale roasting operation. I shoot photography — portraits, travel, events. I collect Pokémon cards. I’m learning to build web applications. And my dog Ruxpin is the best part of every day.
Splitting time between Irvine and Los Angeles, always looking for the next adventure. Leading with curiosity, not certainty.
