Ruxpin is built on work other people gave away. These are the pieces that travel inside the app and the website, and the terms they travel under.

Typefaces

Your thoughts are set in two open-source families, both bundled with the app.

Newsreader is the serif. It carries the reading voice: entry text, headings, and the weekly impression. Designed by Hugues Gentile at Production Type.

Hanken Grotesk is the sans. It carries labels, meta lines, and every control you tap. Designed by Alfredo Marco Pradil.

The website sets its pages in Geist and Geist Mono, published by Vercel.

All four are licensed under the SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1. The full licence is at scripts.sil.org/OFL, and a copy of it travels inside every font file Ruxpin ships.

Everything else

The app is built with React Native and Expo; the website and the API run on Next.js. The record itself lives in PostgreSQL, by way of Supabase. Some of the small icons are Apple's SF Symbols, drawn unmodified: the streak flame, and the marks beside each kind of source.

That list is not exhaustive, and the honest version of it is long: several hundred open-source packages stand behind a single spoken thought becoming an entry you can find again. We are grateful to all of them.
